Rampart IC mainly protected staff positions caudal to its shield, while EggNest Complete offered more uniform shielding around the table and at different heights.<br /><br />The authors conclude that both systems are effective for protecting the main operator and assistant, but EggNest Complete gives superior all-around protection for the entire cath lab team. They argue that this broader coverage is important because modern cath lab procedures involve multiple staff members in different positions. The study was performed with a phantom rather than human patients, so clinical confirmation is still needed.
