Intravenous (IV) platelet inhibition has become a crucial aspect of managing high-risk patients undergoing percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) in the ccath lab, particularly for those with acute coronary syndromes (ACS), complex coronary lesions, or high thrombus burden. Learning Objectives
At the end of this activity, participants will be able to:
  1. Analyze the clinical presentation and intraprocedural challenges of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) with large thrombus burden, and evaluate the role of intravenous antiplatelet agents in optimizing reperfusion strategies.
  2. Evaluate the use of intravenous P2Y12 inhibitors in the perioperative management of patients undergoing PCI who are at high risk for post-operative cardiovascular events.
  3. Apply evidence-based strategies to balance ischemic and bleeding risks in the cath lab setting.
  4. Discuss real-world cases presentations involving the use of IV P2Y12 Inhibitor therapy.
