Summarize the design and outcomes of HI PEITHO and STORM PE as they relate to intermediate high-risk pulmonary embolism (PE).
Compare anticoagulation alone vs. reperfusion strategies (ultrasound-facilitated thrombolysis and computer assisted vacuum thrombectomy) on RV/LV remodeling, clinical deterioration, and safety.
Apply trial evidence to patient selection, escalation pathways, and institutional protocols to improve clinical performance.
