Cardio-Obstetrics for the Interventional Cardiologist
Overview
Cardiovascular disease is a leading cause of maternal morbidity and mortality in the United States. Many cardiovascular conditions may occur during pregnancy or pregnancy may exacerbate pre-existing cardiovascular conditions. These conditions include valvular disease, ischemic heart disease, and peripartum cardiomyopathy. The purpose of this series is to support the education of interventional cardiologists who may encounter complex cardiovascular disease in pregnancy.
