Quality Improvement Tip of the Month: Entrapped Equipment
Description

This conversation is an installment of SCAI's Quality Improvement Tip of the Month program.

Device entrapment during percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is rare but potentially life-threatening. The authors of the November 2025 Tip of the Month offer a case-based panel discussion to their comprehensive, step-by-step guide to managing entrapped coronary equipment—including guidewires, stents, burrs, and balloons—using proven techniques like pulling/telescoping, trapping, snaring, and bailout strategies.
