Clinical Conversation in Interventional Cardiology: Clinical Experience With a Novel Perfusion Balloon Catheter in Patients With Coronary Artery Perforation: Primary Results From the Ringer Clinical Study
Program Description
The Ringer perfusion catheter (Teleflex) features a novel design with a spiral-shaped inflatable balloon that approximates a hollow cylinder when inflated to manage hemorrhage associated with coronary artery perforation (CAP) during percutaneous coronary intervention while enabling distal perfusion.

In a multicenter, prospective, single-arm study, the safety and efficacy of using the Ringer device in the treatment of CAP were assessed. Join study authors to discuss the study in greater detail.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe the clinical challenges associated with coronary artery perforation (CAP) during percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and the limitations of current treatment modalities.
  2. Explain the design and functional advantages of the Ringer perfusion balloon catheter in managing CAP.
  3. Analyze the safety and efficacy outcomes of the Ringer catheter as reported in the multicenter prospective study, including procedural success rates and adverse event data.
  4. Identify the potential advantages of the Ringer catheter over traditional CAP management techniques.
