The Future is Upon Us: Emerging Technology and PVI
Program Information
Agenda & Faculty

This symposium reviews the newest technology in peripheral intervention either currently available or coming to market. Experts in the field will discuss the data surrounding these devices, the anticipated impact on clinical care, and future directions in the field of peripheral vascular interventions.

Moderator: Sasanka Jayasuriya, MD, FSCAI
Q&A Moderator: Faisal Latif, MD, FSCAI

•    What's New in Vascular Scaffolds?, Peter Monteleone, MD, FSCAI
•    Seeing Is Believing: From IVUS to OCT to FORS, Joseph Campbell, MD, FSCAI
•    Atherectomy, Lithotripsy, Thrombectomy, and More, Santhosh Jay Mathews, MD, FSCAI
•    Addressing the Unaddressed: PQ Bypass and Deep Vein Arterialization for Limb Salvage, Fadi A. Saab, MD, FSCAI
•    Round 2: Is Renal Denervation Here to Stay?, David E. Kandzari, MD, FSCAI

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Discuss data for new scaffolds being designed for arterial and venous vascular beds.
  2. Describe the data supporting intravascular imaging to guide peripheral intervention.
  3. Give examples of clinical scenarios where new thrombectomy and atherectomy devices can make an impact.
  4. Compare the current approach to endovascular bypass techniques versus future trials and studies supporting expansion of these approaches.
  5. Examine the recent and upcoming trials of new renal denervation devices and likely target populations most likely to benefit.

Continuing Education Information

Accreditation Statement
The Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) is accredited by the
Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Credit Designation
SCAI designates this enduring material for a maximum of 1.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

ABIM MOC
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 1.25 medical knowledge MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
