Forearm Access in Trans-Radial PCI
Program Information

Agenda & Faculty

This webinar discusses challenges in contemporary trans-radial PCI practice and its management. The goals are to discuss the innovative, safe, efficient, and effective application of forearm access for complex PCI with presentation of data, tips, and tricks from experienced operators. Faculty will discuss in detail methods to improve operator and patient safety and to prevent and manage complications.

Moderator: Ranya Sweis, MD, FSCAI
Q&A Moderator: Rajesh V. Swaminathan, MD, FSCAI

  • The Pros and Cons of Complex PCI via Radial Access, Rajiv Gulati, MD PhD, FSCAI
  • Post-CABG: Can and Should We Still Be Radial?, Mirvat Alasnag, MD, FSCAI
  • Alternate Forearm Access: The Future or a Niche?, Sanjay K. Chugh, MD,DM
  • Anatomic Challenges of Transradial PCI, Ranya Sweis, MD, FSCAI
  • Management of Forearm Access Complications, Adhir R. Shroff, MD, FSCAI
  • Radiation Safety in Radial Access, Sanjit S Jolly, MD

    Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, participants should be able to:
  1. Review the latest data on efficacy and safety of TR-PCI for complex PCI compared with TF-PCI.
  2. Explain some of the limitations of radial access for complex PCI.
  3. Formulate strategies to manage radial complications.
  4. Evaluate techniques to lower operator radiation risk during radial PCI.
