Healthcare professionals have experienced a substantial learning curve in delivering high-quality care during the COVID-19 pandemic. This experience and other current events across the country have dramatically accelerated changes that were underway in reshaping healthcare and the care of the cardiovascular patient.

Recognizing that our specialty has been and will continue to operate in a new normal led SCAI to design this novel series addressing the need for data collection around life-saving cardiac procedures; communication tools for medical personnel, administrators, and patients; and plans to maximize efficiency.
